Physically, I'm big, strong and ugly. It's the kind of ugly that most people pass by, but small children and dogs instinctively trust. I'm much older than I look; battle-scarred and world weary. Friends refer to me as an old warhorse. I take that as a compliment.
MY FAMILY:
My 16 year-old son is the joy of my existence. Everything he does makes me proud. He was practicing tae kwon do, and kept inviting me on the mat to show me what he could do. I kept showing him what the room looked like upside-down. Now he practices krav maga. That's another story. At one time there was not a man alive I was afraid of; now I might be raising him. The ring I wear on my right hand is laser-cut tungsten with a diamond bevel. It is 9 years old and there is not a scratch on it. It has a dark mirror surface. I wear it to remind me that I have a son, and that every decision I make affects more than just me.
MORE ABOUT ME:
I've been raised all over the world. No, I'm not an army brat. I've been fortunate enough to have seen many places outsiders don't get to visit anymore. I regret that some of the places I love the most I'll never get to share with my son.
I have a much more practical view of life and the world than most. I've held friends and strangers alike and watched them die, and I've extinguished the lives of enemies with my bare hands. Each takes something from you. I've left bits and pieces of me all over. Little things like deadlines or watching American Idol or any TV show with a laughtrack seem tawdry and unimportant.
I care about family, friends, strangers who can't protect themselves, and innocent children, and I will fight for any of them. People who call themselves friends will help you move. Real friends will help you move bodies.
I've been asked about my turtle, so I've written about it in my journal....
I'm a morning person and I love to cook. I like holidays (I even make them up sometimes; I own my own company) and invite friends and employees over for the day to feast. I'll get up at weird o'clock in the morning and fire up the grill/stove/oven. I'll cook from sun up to sundown as long as people are willing to keep eating.
I didn't used to be a morning person. I used to be an event-oriented person. I would stay awake from 48-72 hours at a time, and be seen everywhere, at all hours. That is where I got the reputation for being supernatural. Then I would crash somewhere (away from prying eyes) for 18-24 hours. No one knew I was sleeping; they just thought I was somewhere else, doing something else.
I will keep adding things as I think of them. If you have any questions, (I know this is lame) feel free to ask. Questions and answers are absolutely free. And since none of you will ever meet me, you can be sure that this is the one place I will be absolutely honest.
